This work draws from the architecture of marine shells, structures shaped by slow growth, internal pressure, and the need for protection. The timber frame rises as a vertical enclosure, split and opened to hold a reflective interior, suggesting a form organized around exposure and shelter.

  • This prototype is made out of Red Oak. It can be tailored according to specific requests.

  • 3D scanning and packed nesting inform the glue-up of custom billets, which are milled and hand-finished.

  • The featured piece’s dimensions are 1750 × 700 × 350 mm. These proportions can be fully customized to suit your specific space.

Inside the Process

Designing the process is as important to us as designing the object. We start with a custom glue-up to minimize waste and machining time, followed by specialized workholding setups that reduce vibration and ensure the best possible finish.

These are snapshots from the workshop as our self-standing mirror prototype comes together. Each project demands a tailored approach, where material, geometry, and tools are interdependent.
